Bought a 2005 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100

I was at Bobcaygeon Bikefest up here in Ontario, Canada at the end of June and ran into a nice old fellow with a cane who can no longer ride this beautiful black beast. In just over two years, he only put 1100 kilometers on this bike. In the first three days, I put on 1300. The bike only had 8660 kms, or just over 5000 miles on it. I came with sissy bar, crash bars, windshield and luggage rack with a small leather bag. I got it for a price I couldn't pass up: 4000 dollars. I didn't know if I could ride something this big. It weighs 553 lbs dry, but handles and balances beautifully and gets the same gas mileage as the S40. I'm keeping the S40. I just love it too much and will ride it too for sure. The Honda sure is more comfortable for the long weekend rides I do with my 11 year old son. I've never had a big bike before and I must say, it's an entirely new realm of motorcycling for me. It's pretty incredible in a different way from the fun and responsive S40. Just had to share. Hope you're all having a great summer of riding.

Oh, and one more thing...this bike is literally mint condition. It looks like it rolled out of the stealership.

I rode one once and it would do 70 in 2nd gear without working hard.
I don't know the set-up, but I'm pretty sure it was pretty close to stock.

Try test-riding a Triumph Thunderbird. The standard 1600cc will do 60 in 1st with two people on the bike. 60 is where it hits the rev limiter, not where it runs out of power.
I can only imagine what the 1700cc Thunderbird Storm is like...
