Went to AMA Vintage Days at Mid Ohio Sports Car Ra

I went to the Mid-Ohio racetrack for the annual AMA swap meet and vintage motorcycle racing.  Never been to anything like that and was totally blown away by the beautiful old bikes.

The swap meet portion was great with lots of old bikes, basket cases, rollers and riders for sale.  Some rare bikes were in the mix and lots of wheels, tanks, engines, etc.  I came close to buying a BSA basket case until I noticed that the fork tubes were missing and a PO had pulled the cylinder liner out for some reason.  Admission was $40 for one day but it was fun.

My wife and I went on Friday......$ 80 for the pair of us...not sure she enjoyed it $ 40 worth!  It does seem to be overpriced.

I saw 2 Savages...one was a Bobber with a for sale sign on it, the other was being ridden in the AMA agility/cone event...not sure the name for it.  I looked through the swap meet for a chrome tank side for the Honda S65 and didn't see a single one.

I always enjoy watching the vintage racers on the track, and would love to go see the dirt track races some year.

I took a few photos while I was at the Vintage Days....some cool projects.

Honda 70 with a 350cc engine and modern fork sliders.....Fun?

Bicycle with engine added, and bike is made to look vintage Board Track bike.  There were several conversions of bikes....this was one of the nicest.
