i posted this in the cafe as well, not sure if it should go here or there. i am about to take a 3-4 week roadtrip and i'd love to hear what y'all have in your emergency toolkit. i have some ideas of what i need but i bet y'all have great feedback.  thanks in advance!

btw- BIG thanks to the forum for the oil change/oil level posts.  i took my bike in to have the tires put on and just had them change my oil (no garage right now). they called to dispute the amount of oil i wanted in it, stating the manual stated differently. i was able to DROP KNOWLEDGE because of this forum, you guys rock.

Cell phone, towing rider on your insurance policy, debit card. Some things, you just can't fix on the side of the road.

Commonly forgotten items: 17mm or 11/16" combination wrench (mirror nuts and rear axle); 15/16" wrench (rear axle); spare bulbs in pill bottles with the lids taped shut; 10mm or 13/32" socket with extension and 1/4" drive ratchet (seat and tank hardware); baby wipes; small can spray oil; MRE (in saddlebag); space blanket (in saddlebag); cigarette lighter... If you break down in the backside of the middle of nowhere, it gets cold at night, so you want food, shelter and fire. There are places not far from me with ZERO cell coverage and few people, and the few you may find do not take kindly to trespassers.
