Well I was tightening the bolts on the head cover and wasnt listening for the click on the torque wrench...I have overtorqued the rear right corner bolt.
About to see what the process for ordering one is, but curious what the best/quickest method for removing the bolt threads/shaft that are left remaining would be?
And also since I am going to be out of commission until that issue is solved thought I could go ahead and get the verslavy cam chain adjuster but am unsure where to purchase.
Pardon if this is repetitive, still browsing through the forums but it just happened and figured I would post while fresh on the mind. :'(

Generally the bolt is fine....and you will strip the aluminum threads out of the cylinder head when it is overtightened. And that is a big problem.
Confirm that the bolt is the problem before you order one.

I have, the bolt broke and I pulled about half of it out of the bolt hole. Whats left are the threads in the block.

Head cover is on, I will head back out and take it off now. I'll attempt a photo but it's getting dark, so it may be in the am before I can post one...we will see.

if you can get a pair of pliers on it and twist it out you're good to go.
otherwise if you need to use an easy out, I hope you have experience with them as a lot of newbs tend to screw the pooch with this skill.

Be a little neater with your sealant.....you only need a thin coating that seals the joint....with almost nothing squeezing out. And don't put it where it has not been squashed out....there is nothing to be sealed along the cam. Why don't you use black or silver sealant so that it looks like a factory job.....nothing screams "repaired" more than orange sealer squeezing out the joints. You can take a rag soaked with solvent and clean whatever squeezes out of the joint...the sealing is at the joint surface - not by what oozes out the joint.

Ok so only put it on the perimeter of the cover? Nothing in the center essentially? Would putting it around the cam cause the oil to be forced down the bolt hole?

That "well" under the cam holds some oil, and lets the cam lobes splash it around when the engine is running. That oil splash is what throws oil up on the rocker shafts. Having sealant there won't change that - but if the sealant comes loose it could block the drain hole where the oil drains from the head back to the crankcase.

just put a little sealant around each hole so oil doesn't travel up them.
and fergawdsake, use less. just a thin coat.

Yup,.. spread rtv seal like you are trying to re-glue a stamp to an envelope... very thin and even coating...
