Magnetic Oil Drain Plug.
Is it a Belt & Suspenders thing?
Or worthwhile?
Comments. Thanks.

I've seen them come out with a little clump of metal shavings on them. Whether the oil filter would have gotten it or not is anybody's guess.
Old beetles used to come with them. But, they had no oil filter either.

Moto Guzzis come from the factory with magnetic oil plugs. They seem to think they are worthwhile. At every oil change they are coated with a little magnetic material.

You can rub your stock drain plug on a magnet and make it magnetized for free. Don't know how long the magnetism lasts though.

There's no problem that a full tank of gas and a sunny day can't fix!
