My first bike is a 2007 Boulevard S40

Hi to all. Years after I got the motorcycle endorsement. I was looking for the right bike to ride. Because Im a petite guy, I was looking for a lightweight cruiser. I'm so happy that there's a lot of people who enjoy and appreciate this style of motorcycle. This photos as taken yesterday after two weeks of a lot of TLC and some $$. There's a few other things that will need to get fix before she can be 100%. I hope I can learn enough to take good care of her.

Regards

One of the better factory colours, let the forum know your mileage so the experts can give advice. If the bike sounds ok, get a few miles up before pulling things to bits. Do you have the handbook for the bike? Do you know where to check the oil level? Do you have any ownership or service history?

Hi jcstokes, Thank you for your advice. Her millage is 7k and I dont have a ownership or service history. The color is amazing and most people love it. Previous owners were kind to her, but she was drop before I bought her. I already replace the fork, Handlebar, left front footpeg and full replacement on the front brakes.

Yes, I know where to check the oil level and I will doing a oil change soon.

I have a pdf of the owners manual, but I'm looking for a pdf repair book.

Thank you again.

For you oil change use Rotella (it is a diesel oil but has ZDDP which is good for our type of motor and it will last longer). There is a manual on the forum that one of the members put together with a lot of pictures. Check the Technical documents on the home page.  THere is a LOT of information there on all kinds of repairs and issues.

Congrats and welcome! I am a newbie to riding and the site as well, picked up my '96 last year.

As with most automotive-type forums, oil debates can get heated. FWIW, I just swapped the synthetic Rotella T6 into my 13,000 mile bike a few weeks ago and she sounds smoother than ever. Of course, your milage may vary!

Good luck with it!

I think you can download a pdf of the Clymer repair manual for about $12US, try googling Clymer Repair manual Suzuki LS650. There are errors in this manual and there should be a thread in the tech section of this site which explains this.

From this site, the one tip, which I believe was/is the MOST valuable is:

"...  Rotella (it is a diesel oil but has ZDDP which is good for our type of motor and it will last longer) ..."

Would  I would not have known, unless I took it apart.
Which I am not inclined to do, at this time !

Men are allowed to be Slight or Small Built. I was buying clothes in the boys department when I was in my 20's,so I understand... But,I never said I was, petite...
My stature made this bike a good fit. AND it's a 650! You waited until the right bike showed up..
