Fit it ticket-Exhaust too loud

Hi, hoping for some help
I got pulled over for being too loud. Have a 06, and I've had it for about 5 years. First time pulled over by prick cop. I've got 30 days to fix it. I don't have the stock exhaust. Original owner changed, and I'm the 3rd owner, so I don't have that. Jardine exhaust is on, I was told to get baffles, but I can't find any from Jardine, and was told I need to get Jardine baffles. New stock exhaust is $350-450.
Wondering if anyone has any good ideas

Thanks, Fishbulb! That S&S video on mufflers was especially good.

Dyna mufflers are on FeeBay, cheap, but always in pairs. I don't need two. I suppose a stop by the Harley dealer in hopes of finding a single muffler is in order.

I'll just say I'm Ed Harley.

Then after a month put the jardine back on. Probably cheaper than buying jardine baffles, unless they're $30 or cheaper.

If you want a cheap, but reasonable quality muffler that sounds good, is lightweight, and easy to mount up, consider the EMGO 26" reverse cone megaphone. The Ryca kit came with the 17" EMGO Shorty, but that was over the top loud. The Shorty has a removeable baffle and requires fiberglass packing (which blows out in short order). The 26" has non-removable metal baffles and of course does not require repacking. You won't get a ticket with this muffler unless the police are looking for manufacturer's matching identification stamps on the muffler.

Currently available on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/171308590995?lpid=82 although I found it cheaper.

MMRanch's bike has this Emgo muffler on it. I have spent a few hours chasing his bike around the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina, and it sounds good.

Not sure who you are directing that question to......however there is an angle adjustment needed to mount any muffler that is straight.

Buying the RYCA adapter is the easiest method and provides a bolt on fit. Using the cut and soup can approach listed in the Tech Section has worked for a lot of folks.

I made my own adapter, and if you have access to a welder and a muffler shop to make expand the pipe to the proper size to slip over the header you can make your own. I used stainless and it is tough to work with....you can use regular steel and you will have to use high temp paint or have it coated (buying the RYCA adapter is much easier).
