Bit of road trouble today...

104' today,... and that's going to be the cool day this week,... so I took off for a Mt Lemmon ride...
Going into the turn lane, the truck in front of me spewed out one of those metal sawhorse type road warning signs from underneath... no way to dodge the spinning beast so I rode over it... It launched me about 6" off the ground both wheels and I came down a little cockeyed...

Lucky to be on the Savage instead of the Harley... the bike seems to naturally right itself pretty smoothly...

Anyway,.. I pull around the corner and into the Wallymart parking lot to inspect the tires... and it's all okay...
I walked over and dragged the road sign out of traffic...
.. then continued on...
Nice on the mountain,... about 75' at the top...
Doused my shirt with water on the way down...
Going from a cool 75' down into 104'+ is brutal... It hits you in waves as you come around specific corners... the last few, you know are coming, but you can''t believe it can actually get hotter than you already are...
...but hey,... I did get a ride... Wink...

Cool... Cool...

Glad you're OK buddy  Kiss

Well I live in a rural area on the island that has no real road maintenance at all. We have dirt/rock shoulders, and it gets moved (dirt and gravel) into the lane, especially on turns. Seems the four wheel tracks make for some funky maneuvering around blind sweeps in the road.....
I have many times got caught with my guard down, going from asphalt to gravel coated asphalt, plus 40 - 50 mph, I just leave my feet on the pegs, let the bike slip back under me, just as long as I don't try to brake or over correct....
It reminds me of riding my dirt bike waaaaaaaay back in those says when slip'n and slide'n was fun  Grin

YIKES!!! Glad you're OK! I was just at a body shop where a guy was hit by a flying two by four that a semi had run over and spewed out into the front of his car.  Scary stuff!

Glad you are OK Serow.  Those close calls really get your heart pumping.  I was going to post this to it's own thread but the title is appropriate.

It is unbeeelievable this guy walked away!  You have to see it to believe it, really.

The other day I was riding on a freeway near dusk and I was in the inside lane maybe going 65mph. The car in front of me swerved into the center lane and for some reason I followed him. Good thing! someone had dropped a bed mattress off a vehicle and hitting one of those can not be healthy.

Serowbot,  is Arizona your home and you have family there? It is pretty there in the spring and fall but Hell during the summer. Rode around the Superstition Mountains one time in 113 degree weather. Felt like I was being cremated alive. Felt like I could have cooked eggs and bacon on my gas tank it was so hot.

The eggs were probably poached whether they were on the tank or not.
