Easy fix...just change the petc0ck (and don't forget to cap the vacuum port on the right side of the carb, I used a rubber cap from auto parts store), most stumbling problems are solved.
And yes, you will have to start remembering to turn off the new one or else risk gas in your oil if the carb float needle is weak.
I have gotten into the habit of turning my gas off and letting it idle for about 30 seconds then shutting down.

Update: Well I still think that the idle sounds way too high. But this morning after a 4 minute warmup bike didn't die on me this morning. So maybe I'm just not used to thumpin. I'll continue to tinker. Thanks everybody for your advice.

Good news! I usually keep my idle on the high side, but I'm always fiddling with it...
You should consider the new petcock anyway it really does help remedy a lot of strange behaviors...

Yeah, I ordered it, seems to be a consensus upgrade.

I also have a 2011. Had the same issue. Replaced petcock with Raptor, adjusted idle, IM screw, no more problem. Love my thumper.
