What holds this thing on?

I managed to scavenge the bracket that covers the battery, the lock bracket, a toolbox and lock cylinder. The thing is, besides the lock on the bottom, what holds this on? There are two tabs on the inside-top edge of the box, but I can't see anything they'd hook to in order to keep in place. When I got the bike, the only thing holding the battery from sliding out was the positive cable.

maybe you can figure out what you're missing from this.

I put in 2000 for the year to get to the diagram, but I'm pretty sure they are all the same.

Unless mine was altered a lot before I got it, the battery box cover is only held on by the key lock at the bottom and the two hooks at the top. Under that, the battery is held in by the plate, or whatever it is called, that is attached by a screw through top and two(or one in my case) screws in the bottom, which also holds the key locking bent piece of metal thingy on.

I hope that made sense. Cheesy

I just don't know what the two hooks on the inside top of the cover are supposed to hook on to? Anyone care to post a photo?

See those two slots in the plastic chrome top plate?... (right and left of the center screw)...
The claws hook in there...

That is exactly what my problem is. No battery-box cap. Thanks Serowbot!

You can attach a plate at the screw hole and it will hold the cover on.
I had this bracket in my leftovers from something and it worked perfectly.
