So after getting my tensioner modded I'm putting everything back together. Let the Rtv cure for around 18 hours, take it out to go to work..... oh hey oil should not be coming out from underneath that bolt.  Hmmmm. Take the clutch cover bolt out, third bolt from left to right after the clutch lever. Notice there is a small crack about one inch in length. Anybody know if the cover can be welded or even jb welded? The cracks does not extend all of the way out to the end of the cover. I'd try to take a picture but it is so miniscule it wouldn't be noticeable.

Yeah I figured as long as it gets in there and is able to hold oil it should be good. Just want to ride the bike. The bike isn't made to sit it needs to be ridden any day any weather.

JB weld is the closest thing to magic a regular guy can afford..Thers stuff out there in world that is incredibly strong,but very expensive. JB will do the job, site prep is crucial,,

Clean the crack out. Get some Berrymans, leaves less film than the cheapo stuff. If the crack is straight, use a triangle file & cut a shallow groove. Then PACK that groove. The deeper IN the better the odds..
If the crack grows due to vibration & ya see seepage in a year or so, do it all again but also drill a 1/8th hole at the end of the crack to give the vibes a radius to end in. Thats how they do it on plexiglass windshields on small planes.. I doubt it can grow if ya glue it together..

also: aluminum is nice and light but not the strongest metal.
When assembling always use a criss-cross pattern with bolts.
Make absolutely certain the bolts aren't pulling parts together,
they should already be fully seated before tightening bolts.

Uh Huhh.. and make several passes around tightening. Dont try to nail it on the first pass,,
Go SLOW, You can feel when a bolt is finished clamping & is starting to stretch,
