Hi my petcock is leaking through the original bolts  (a bit rusty) when I reinstalled the petcock after cleaning the tank. I have been reading and found that the bolts have a "sealing" washer on them  can i try re cleaning the rust off of the bolts and make sure there is no dirt or rust letting gas leak through the seal  Or should i just go out and try to find new bolts?   I doubt i can find any with sealing washers on them so what do you guys use and what is the size of the bolts?  Thanks.

I am from the boonies there's no Ace Hardware  near me there is only home hardware and Canadian tire that are within an hours drive of me and i  doubt they have the oring you speak of but i will check. I was thinking try some of the Permatex PermaShield Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing & Flange Sealant if i cant find any suitable replacement bolts any thoughts on that idea?

I was also wondering if its normal for those bolts with sealing washers to be 1 use only? if they are normally reusable i will take the petcock off and make 100% sure there is no rust or gunk interfering with the seals and try it again. Not really sure why suzuki made  the bolt holes go up through the tank so fuel can leak through them the first place but ahh well. =)

I hate those washers with the rubber inserts.. give that sealant a test  
let it dry real good, gas loves to eat through stuff
