If you have the stock petcock, and the diaphragm goes bad, it'll leak gas into the vac line which goes to the carb.
In any case, if you have a choice, park pointing uphill not downhill.
Any gas leaking will go into the airbox instead into the cylinder.
plus you won't find your bike lying on the ground in the morning as the kickstand will fold if it rolls forward.
