I want to cut my rear fender pretty short and get rid of the second seat and sissy bar but the cdi box is under it. Where would be a good place to re locate the cdi to?

That's not the cdi (technically, we have a TDI) that's the rectumfryer (ok, technically it's a rectifier).
Now that you know what it is... do a search, plenty of answers.
