It probably is; although, Rotella is so good and proven time and time again.

I would not recommend mixing oils.  Find the oil you want and use it straight up....no mixing.    Some of us add a little bit of a ZDDP additive....and I use the Redline ZDDP additive.

If you mix 1 quart of Redline 4 cycle oil and 1 quart of Rotella.....what do you end up with?

Some swear the Rotella is good enough.  Some swear the ZDDP in Rotella is a little low.  I'd stick with straight Rotella (minimum) or boost it to ~1500 ppm with Redline (maximum).

Here is a source for the Redline ZDDP additive.

http://www.amazon.com/Redline-81403-Engine-Break-In-Additive/dp/B00881GELC/re...

Although the website for Redline shows several retail outlets to carry their products - most do not carry the ZDDP additive.

Here is the blend table.  Add this amount of the Redline ZDDP to each gallon of Rotella to achieve the desired amount.

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1345080430

I add one ounce per gallon of Rotella......to get 1,400 ppm.

Yeah, none of the chain auto stores carry Redline. I ordered directly from Redline too and just bought enough for a few oil changes.
