Handlebar Caps On Clamps

Do those "caps" on the motorcycle handlebar clamps pop off or is there a trick to getting them off?  I can't seem to figure it out and I wanted to adjust my handlebars a bit.

Yes, they just pop off.  A thin blade under the edge and work it around

Yeah, that's what I thought!  However, whomever I got the bike from 4-yrs ago decided it was a good idea to glue those caps on!  So, I've been riding with the handlebars that way for 4-yrs, so it's not a big deal but still...they had to glue them on?  (shaking head)

They fall out pretty easily if you don't glue them in. I've lost most of the ones off Sam in under 2 months. Bike had 7157.5 miles on it when I bought it, rolled past 8900 this evening... My road looks like the training ground for bulldozer or tank operators...

Well, maybe that's why they glued them down but it makes adjusting the handlebars kind of hard to do when they do that!  LOL!
