Front Brake Pads

So, I went to get my bike inspected today and it failed. Service guy said the front brake pads were shot. I am the original owner of the bike with only 5500 miles on the odometer. Does this seem like normal wear for the stock brake pads? Also, what kind/brand pads are recommended for replacements?

EBC Organic pads are my pad of choice.

Can't say for sure on the mileage....depend a lot on how you ride, how often you stop, etc.

I got the ebc semi sintered (think that's how you spell it). They seem to stop pretty good. Have about 500 miles on em. Would probably go with organics so that the rotor wears slower. If you go semi metallic or metallic the rotor will wear faster. Which will cost more to replace down the road than the $20 for pads.
