Remove stock grips?
05/14/14 at 14:02:30

I want to know if it is possible to remove the stock grips to put some gran tourismo grips on.  If so, how do you get them off?

Windex, windex, windex, or blue cheapy equivalent, with ammonia. grips slip right off! slicker than sn*t.  Grin

separate the rubber from the plastic ring, pry up with a small screwdriver and spray it in.

do it the way the youtube video showed that i posted, I did it the same way.

Then you will need to loosen the plastic piece (I dont recommend using a screwdriveer cause u could crack the plastic)

After you get them off use some windex and a rought rag to clean off the residue (use alot of pressure)

Hammer and a razor blade. I knock the chromed plastic ends off, throw them away if I can find them, and cut through the old grip with a single edge razor blade. Sand the ridges off your stock plastic throttle sleeve (the long white thing under the grip), makes sliding the new grip on 1000x more easy. Your replacement grip is unlikely to have the grooves the ridges go in anyway.

Hair spray makes a decent grip glue... but contact cement (slide the grip on while the glue is wet) works better. Spray it IN the grip, not on the bar.
