That would be cool to see those beauties back on the track!

About 25 ears ago, the Model A club my Grandfather belonged to, hosted the National Ford Model A meet in Indy.  We got to ride around the big track in his 1929 sedan, but while we were eating lunch in the grandstands, we were treated to a couple of hot laps by a 1930 indycar.  I'd been to the 500 before, but I'll never forget the amazement on my 8yr old face at seeing a 60yr old open cockpit car with no seatbelt traveling at speeds well over 100mph!  The driver actually leaned into the turns to keep from falling out, lol.

The museum at the Indy Speedway has a lot of beee-autiful old indy cars. They are so cool to look at. Beautiful bodywork. Very simple, mechanical machines. Kind of like looking at a Savage.
