Ever see those battery powered air freshener dispensers with motion sensor?  Put a can of buck pee or skunk scent in one and tape it to your bike.
If it goes off, oh well, you will have to wash it like above stated, but the person who gets sprayed won't go near the bike again.

Same goes for your house....put them on or near your windows, that way if they go off the perps will smell like skunks and the police will know for sure they were at your windows.

LOL, just make sure you know how to turn them off quickly....they have a delay of like ten seconds, then they go off.

ey, c´mon, guys..keep it realistic Smiley We have LAWS here....even just carrying pepper spray is illegal..using it will send you to jail. We care more about the villains than the victims here... Now, if I had my way, and if I were to detect a bike thief fooling around with my bike, I would slowly descend the stairs, sneak up on him and whip the mofo up real good with a long bullwhip. But...it´s deemed illegal. As is skunk spray, razorblades, soft air guns and laser pointers.  And carrying a screwdriver or a wrench in public is also illegal. Not to mention a knife. Anything that can be used to defend yourself or your property is practically illegal. All that remains is deterrents. Having a pitbull on patrol is not one of the legal ones either. Undecided

So...I have to  look at "civilized" methods, not useful or pragmatic. Smiley

I think your only recourse is to have a defective bike.
Can't be blamed if a couple of wires are shorted to the either grip and frame can ya?
120v should set him down real quick.
and he's not likely to come back and complain about it.

Based on your description I dispute the assertion that you live in a civilized place. Maybe just tarp it over with a cable going through the grommets and cinch at the bottom...

I use one of these it's less than 6 dollars and it works great it has a very high pitch alarm and people will know if someone is stealing your bike it also has a pretty cool way to key in your 3 letter code. Never had a problem and people hear me set the alarm when I leave the bike I like that

Yep, small devices may look harmless but can deter also if they have ear-piercing sound. I was thinking of combining something like the XENA lock and something hidden. We´ll see. Also, the "Protected by S&W" idea is cool, but "Property of H A" might be more effective, but since I don´t want to affiliate with them...no go. Tnx for good and funny ideas, guys Smiley Now keep calm & move on, I´ll let you know later what I decided. Roll Eyes

Way back, in the black & white times, I once saw a sticker on a Panhead saying:

"If you value your life as much as I value this bike - don´t fook with it!"  Cool
