I added two #4 nylon washers from ACE hardware.... I purchased 6 of them at the time used two on each of the bikes....they don't pop on shut off now....occasional poof.

Also takes away the surging at 55-65mph.... and gives better mid-range throttle response. Although it could be the combination of petc0ck, washers and adj. on the air/fuel screw, that did all the changes.

You don't ever go back to stock once you make the machine decent. EVER. Pokey's gas tank, gas tank mounts and rear fender hit the melt yard, the speedometer mount and license plate mount went to the landfill, the factory bars got swapped at an old job for different bars, the stock front wheel went to another forum member, Lancer has the master cylinder, caliper and long braided stainless brake hose... the peg cores have replica Harley Panhead floorboards welded to them... had 2 stock mufflers rot off the bike in under 3 years of daily riding... Max Morley turned the fender rails and sissybar into his tour pack mounting bracket... pillion "seat", sissybar pad and passenger pegs went to a London (England) Savage owner from the old forum...

Once something is dialed in, it's dialed in. Rid yourself of the temptation to commit the ultimate motorcycle sin (turning one back to stock). Throw the take offs away, sell them, trade them, turn them into fishing weights, whatever will keep you from ever turning into "Casper Milquetoast" and going back to stock.

Stone stock sucks.

Casper Milquetoast,, thats pretty spot on,,& Yea, Im sure youre right,, It makes sense to ditch what is clearly NOT needed on the bike,, I just havent learned how to do that stuff yet.
The stock exhaust got repurposed,, Its busy supporting the external "chimney" for the ( now gone) wood burning stove. I need to take it down,, but, I can start a list of
"I need to" & go for pages,, so, Its not happnin soon,,

LOL, i'm a parts keeper... I have a plastic bin with all the parts I remove off each of my bikes, labeled and everything. In case I break something I have a old replacement part to keep the bike running.

I still have some seats from my 2007 vtx1300 and my 2007 Harley road glide.... guess I should try the ebay thing, or maybe craigslist.... I also have some small parts from the Harley too.... ROFL...
