S-P Serious Thumper Offline Back in the saddle again Posts: 816 Phoenix, AZ Gender:	Moving the rectifier 05/10/14 at 07:36:25 How hard is it to move the rectifier and wiring under the seat to the rear lighting? Do you need to remove the rear wheel? Is there enough wire to relocate it without doing any wiring mods? Thanks!

Remove airbox door under right side cover. Unhook re/rec, place in airbox, drop wiring through airbox top intake and reconnect. Leave the door off...

The other wires you may need to stretch the harnesses. Run them under the fender rails if retaining them, otherwise, epoxy a conduit under the rear fender and run them through that. You will need to pull the rear wheel if you go the conduit route.

Note: The factory rear fender w/o a seat is uglier than a shaved down wormy dog's butt... You'll need to add a fender bib to hide all the lumps, bumps and holes.

Yep, that's Pokey, my 1998 when it had 13.5" bars, stock tank and rear fender, same pipe it runs now and a 450 Rebel headlight.

It had leather saddlebags but I took them off. Then one day in my grandparents shop I was looking for something and found it in a drawer. It was my grandpas field pack from when he was in the army. Right now it holds oil and a funnel until I fix the plug leak Grin

olive drab is probably how I would paint mine too. With a satin finish. But it would be years before I did that
