For those of us who don't have tachometers, and who have tried with no success to use the smartphone apps and such that don't work...
Is there a YouTube clip of a Savage that has a nice example of the *right* idle speed? Can one of the moderators/experts make a permanent link to a video so we noobs can get it right?
There are a few "metronome" videos, like this one:

For a bike that has two revs per explosion, does a 500bpm click track give a tempo for 1000rpm?
yup

I start the bike in this video and adjust it to about 1,600rpm.... but i'm talking about the led's I added.
But it will give you a good idea what speed to set it at...

1600? I thought 800 to 1000 was the target? Don't get me wrong I appreciate the video.

I always adjust as needed.... warm up is a bit faster, after about 3 to 4 minutes I readjust the speed down just a little.
Its not a Harley, don't make it do a slow thump.... and a higher rev of 1200 to 1400 will not hurt your bike... just don't let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes idling...

I want to adjust mine while I have the tank off right now and putting in the versy, raptor, and rejet at the moment. I havent found a good set of instructions on how to install a tachometer on the bike. I want to do this adjustment as well but would feel safer. How can we install a tach to have a little more peace of mind? and accuracy
