How to Replace Grips
04/26/14 at 08:22:31

OK so I tried doing a search for anything to do with Grips. While it did turn up some posts about folks who have changed their grips, it did not yield any instructions. How do I remove and replace the grips on my 2000 LS650?

Pull off the end caps,(glued on)... pull off the grips... (a little rubbing alcohol under the grips will help them slide off)...

a bit of alcohol will help the new ones slide on too...

That's about it...
That's why we don't have any instructions... Grin...

I had trouble getting mine on so I used 2-sided carpet tape and a bit of mineral spirits.  Just like changing the grip of a golf club.

It's nothing
personal; the other
one came first.

A lot of people don't bother with glue, but your grips may still be able to slide around.  If you REALLY want to stick them on there, think simple.  Hair spray actually works pretty well.

or a bit of petrol smeared around in there. They slide on smoothly then melt onto the bars. They don't come off. You need to cut them off.
