Drag bar suggestions, w/o need for new risers?

Anyone out there swapped their stock handlebars to some sort of dragbar that don´t need new risers or adaptors? I want to do a clean swap, preserving my controls / cables /whatever - I just need straight-ish bars for comfort reasons.

Any tips on stuff that can be had over here in the EU? Freight charges for a piece of pipe from the US are ridiculous.

Hit me with your best tips?

Here's mine. Custom risers, found in my garage, 21mm and 22mm 1/2" drive socket wrenches

. Bars are flat with a slight sweep toward the driver.

To avoid damaging the tank from the controls and such, I got those picture frame bumpers (http://www.joann.com/picture-frame-rubber-bumpers/5612999.html) and put them in places where parts would touch the tank. Been that way for almost a year now, and no scratches.

Reply #7 - 04/25/14 at 23:49:16 Triumph bars tend to be 1" dia and work with the stock risers, my buddy gave me his Bonneville stock bars and they fit great and are so much more comfortable than the buckhorns.

Thanks for the suggestions and ideas! The flattrack bars appeal to me, but the ones you have kochic, you remember where you got them/do they have a name/maker?

And that "custom" riser idea (2 sockets) is brilliant...but will it pass inspection?

Typically, the local dealer for HD parts is out of stock on the flattrack bars.

Now I know what to look for, so thanks so far!

I've tried to fit some dragbars on mine without risers, and the controls would hit the gas tank. These bars were aprox. 29 inches. It looks like kochic has another more narrow gas tank fitted. You need to have drag bars that are pretty wide, in order to prevent the controls from hitting.. There's 3 options. 1: use wide dragbars- my guess would be atleast 35 inches. 2: use spacers on the risers - I think 2 inches is the minimum. 3: flattrack bars with some height - take a look a the Biltwell trackers, I've been thinking about buying these myself
