Dyna-glow

Yup, was following the little lady back from her work last night when I noticed a second tail light low and to the right???  Her Dyna muffler was glowing red inside, and when we stopped I looked at mine too... both were cherry red inside, pipes weren't glowing but the inside of the Dyna's were....

Going to have to look into air leaks again.... both are kinda poppin' a little.

Normal.   On mountain trips after dark our pipes also show a faint foot long blue flame out the back when decelerating, with the red eye effect showing brighter stronger on strong acceleration.

Our bikes are magical in the mountains ....

That is what makes the bike go "poof" when you shut the engine off.  When you turn the ignition off the engine is still turning over and pulling fuel and air through the cylinder - but with no spark plug the fuel and air just gets pumped unburned into the exhaust system.  When the unburned fuel and air accumulates in the hot exhaust and the temperature climbs to the flash point....it goes "poof"! My bike makes a small grumble when it is shut off.  Sounds kinda like someone belching with their mouth closed.....or a stomach grumble.  I kinda snicker whenever I hear it. Roll Eyes
