handlebar controls

If I remember correctly, there are locator pins on the controls on the handlebars. I am trying to orient the S40 bars downward. Can the pins be removed so I can rotate the controls as well?

Yes they can.... those pins were put there to make installing the controls easier during manufacture.

Mine don't have pins.  I am not sure if they were removed at some point before I got it or if they didn't have them in '87.  Never had any problem with them slipping or anything.  They tighten down very well.

Thanks all. I will spin the bars down. I just need to measure how short of risers I can use.
