Took it on a 20+ mile shakedown run. Got the huge backfire dialed out. Need to change the bars and toss a shield on it. Brakes and cables moving freely, as expected. Set the rear shocks at midway, and seemed about right (I outweigh Pine by, um, a lot)...
Have to ease back into riding, I've been out of the saddle for 3 years...
The bike kept trying to run over Doug's 1500 Drifter, just like the 3 "Mikes' Bikes" did at the get together... I'd forgotten how hard these things take off. I kept it in 3rd or 4th and about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle.
Lisa is going to get her endorsement added back to her license. Perfect bike for her to do the test on. And ride around on while her 800 Intruder gets repaired.
My 98 is getting turned into a rigid. Now that I have a running machine, I can get back to enjoying "messing up" the custom project.
