Noisy Carb?
03/30/14 at 00:32:56

Just Pulled the camcover off and fixed the plug leak, noticed a constant ticking sound coming out of the carb. any ideas? got alot of backfire too. Weather was really cold and rainy compared to the warm day i tuned to. (i live in California)

Am i good? Pretty sure the valve clearance is good, check it with feeler gauges, and the .005 fit pretty tight all the way around.

Have a jardine exhaust, and a 5"pod filter.

Also left the shiny covers off, and put a spring and a washer on the bolt that goes from underneath. Pretty good tension, hopefully it holds?

either the carb diaphragm is jerking the slide up & down, or the ticking is coming from somewhere else..
is the ticking only at slow idle?
try richening idle mixture
