This is one of the top rides in AZ.  I've been there in a car, but took the newly modified bike this afternoon on our maiden voyage. It took about 4 hours with a stop for ice cream in Tortilla Flat.  I thought about doing a helmet cam, but someone beat me to it.  Check it out!

YUP! The Salt River Canyon ride through Globe is on my list! I've driven it dozens of times!  There is actually a huge loop that goes around all the "canyon lakes" (going counter-clockwise) that takes you through Canyon Lake, Tortilla Flat, Apache Lake, Roosevelt Lake and then to Jake's Corner up toward Payson, then you come back to Phoenix on the 89 going south, which is an awesome drive too (I make it regularly to visit my parents, I plan on biking it soon!)  The entire loop is nothing but National Geographic scenery and twisty road with some nice straights.  It's a popular run on weekends. There's easily a couple hundred bikes on the loop on the weekends.

OK, I watched the video and I am somewhat confused.

Why is that called Tortilla Flats....when it is hilly?

What was wrong with their motorcycles?......I didn't hear Thump, ticka ticka, Thump , ticka ticka, Thump, ticka ticka, Thump, ticka ticka, Thump, ticka ticka.........
