Thanks for all the comments... I do not care about the sidestand interlock. I can bypass this interlock and the engine should run with the sidestand up or down.
It would be nice to have the neutral light working..What would happen if I just spliced the two blue wires at the diode?" From the diagrams. it looks like this would operate the neutral indicator light off of the neutral switch alone...

I got the tank off last evening and found that the blue wire to the neutral switch was broken. Don't know how this happened but after splicing in a new wire, everything works properly... LG!
