1996 Suzuki LS650 Savage First time bike/build
02/12/14 at 03:53:36

I bought my savage for 500 dollars,
I have done what seems like to be a massive overhaul on it...
the bike was leaking oil from the engine right by the exhaust,
the bike had been in a fire when i got it as well, but all things considering it worked fine when i bought it other than the small oil leak...
well I put new tires on it on the way back the back right head light went out... now after I think about 2 years I've been fooling around with it I've made some what some progress

I've repainted(spray can job), i've re holstered the bike seat, took the motor off myself(not know what i was doing lol), fixed some things here and there head lamp, tail light....

I guess getting to the point of the questions

Anyone know anything about white wall paint for tires?

The stop switch part that connects to the break I can't find it any where to buy a new one I think i broke it off when putting the motor back in the bike

and if anyone has in depth videos of putting the clutch and break petals back on I would appreciate the help!

also anyone know if i should get a 50 ft wrap for my 2.5ft exhaust or a 15 ft?

I don't understand it when people say......"I can't find it anywhere" for parts.  This is a Suzuki model that does not have many parts avalable for "aftermarket" parts.  You only have a few choices when you own the Savage.  Go to the dealer, use an internet online parts seller, use eBay......or use the Marketplace on this forum.

Brake switches are not hard to find.  Go to your dealer, or try BikeBandit, Ron Ayers, or just do a Google seach for Suzuki Motorcycle Parts and you will get links to lots of online sellers for factory parts.

Well that's weird.....no wonder you couldn't find it.

It is shown on the page for "handlebar" as part #9.  The part number is 58830-24B01.

I tried to post the link to the "handlebar page" - but the link copied is the generic parts search page.  Just put in Suzuki, the year, LS650, etc. and go to the handlebar page.

Thanks for the help dave! I've been finding most of the parts I've been needing are like oddly placed in the schematics parts lol thanks for finding it! I do have one question tho if u would know basically the stop light cable is not damaged at all...but it seems that the clamp it self has broken which has made it fall out of the loop which holds it in place so when you stomp the break the clamp doesn't come threw so would i need just the clamp?  (labeled in the picture the part that is broke on my bike) the schematics are not super detailed on this location -.- sorry thanks for all the help guys!

do you mean the little ring that keeps the cable attached to the L shaped bracket?

just wrap a wire around and twist to lock in place.

You might be able to find some hard rings from a jewler that'll fit.

hmmm... push nut if you can find one small enough.

but really, the inspector gonna get down there with a magnifying glass?

180k is a lot of miles, 18k more likely.
