RYCA fork lowering
02/06/14 at 18:58:57

I hate to ask this question, cause your going to see how dum I am. I watched the video 3 times on the proceedure of lowering front forks. Some one tell me how putting a 2'' spacer in the tube lowers the forks.
I used to cut 2'' off the top of my triumph (or BSA) and then re thread the tube to do the lowering.
This is my dream bike. someone here posted this pic before.

You add a spacer to hold it down further so you have less travel.

I was also confused how adding spacers would lower the fork, but once you get it, you get it... Smiley

Correct me if I'm wrong but if I remember that bsa style build didn't actually involve lowering the forks, just longer shocks at the back.
Lovely bike.

sorry for confusion. First off... that pic is of someones bike, unknown to me, whom I found somewhere on this sight.
Second, I think that the front end (or at least the tubes)are off a pre- 1970 BSA or Triumph. Notice the tube top at the trees. Sure looks british.

Here is the bike build thread.....Commandor Chaos's build is the last one on the page.

I looked through it quickly, and it sure looks like the stock forks and yokes to me.  The fork yokes have a single pinch bolt at the bottom and are locked into the top by the large tube nut.  The yokes have been painted black.
