Intel is already phasing out first-gen Bay Trail Celeron, Pentium chips

Intel is picking up speed ..... vastly quicker than Microsoft has done.

They are exhibiting a 1.5 year reaction time to reacting to screwing up yet again.   This compares poorly to the best of the ARM world which rolls an entire generation of improvements in about 1 year.

The first generation of Bay Trail chipsets relied on faking out the old ANTUTU test to give the impression they were quick and energy efficient.   In fact, they were not even in the front 25% of the last year's chip crop once the new "uncheatable" ANTUTU test came out.

Nobody is going to pay a sizable price PREMIUM for a slower, less efficient tablet chipset.  (and that is after Intel loss-leader prices their mobile chipsets to cover all the rest of the extra components that their motherboard requires)

Time for Intel to try try try again ....
