Front footpegs

If this has been answered before, please point me in the right direction. My search attempts failed.

I have an S-40 that is in need of a new front left peg. I cannot find any that look like they would fit. Factory replacements are $50 each and that is for the original nasty ones.

I have read about modifying Harley pegs to fit or maybe it was another type? Can someone help me out here? I am clueless as you can tell on this simple issue.

I think I saw a picture of Serowbot's bike with bicycle pedals.  I REALLY want to know how he did that!

This is one of those parts that don't have a lot of options for.
You either get used/new factory pegs or a rare aftermarket.
Or you modify the pegs to fit yourself.
Depending on your ability to drill a hole, the pegs can droop.

I purchased some Sportster pegs but they needed some slight modifying not to sag.  Where the pegs meet the back of the mounting plate I shimmed the plate out, I JB welded it and then after it set drilled two holes in each and inserted metal pins JB welded into place to make sure they stayed put.  That was last year and no issues what so ever, it sounds like a pain but it really wasn't bad to do and didn't take long at all other then waiting for the JB to set in between.

Oh yea I put the same pegs on the back too and they just bolted on, but one corner of the pegs needed to be grounded round instead of a squared off corner in order to retract up   Wink
