I've been real happy with Windows 7. I'm running the 64-bit pro version. After re-releasing 7, I would have to say MS is in trouble with Windows 8. 8 is fine for tablets and smart phones but absolutely stinks for desktops and laptops.

Good deal but having just built a new PC with Windows 8.1 I could never go back. So much faster.  Cheesy

I am confused, having Windows 7 Home copyright 2009 on my laptop-isn't this 2014??  Is Microsoft doing a time travel thing? Wink

I miss the old Defrag watching the little blocks move around, sorta like the floaters in my eyes...So I could buy a Win 7 edit for 79.00 so should I ever virus up my machine, I could install the new old edition? (tather than trusting my backup discs I created??

Nope, you aren't confused.   MS killed Win 7 for being able to buy it stone cold dead when Win 8 came out.

Now they have resurrected Win 7 because Win 8 is such a turd in the punch bowl it is killing off the PC industry.

(they got the message when people began scraping Win 8 off of laptops in warehouse inventory and installing Ubuntu so they could actually sell the units at a discount to free up some money)

Wink

Wake up time, Microsoft .....    smell the coffee

People actually PREFER your older OS than your new one.

Plus your new one runs Trusted Technology that means it does a constant DRM style reporting back to MS on every program you run on your machine.   Entire Governments (Germany, China, France) will not use your Win 8 software for real work with real data because is is EAT UP with NSA and Chinese cyberspies who figured out how to crack into MS's hardware chip and software.
