I live near a fighter base, was thinking of getting some 20mm ones for mine when I get it.
For traveling purposes....

I did the same thing, bought some ammo tins, painted them up a bit and attached mounts to them with rubber stoppers between. Got a little 200rnd 7.62 tin that im going to mount to the rear seat above the tail light for the tool box at some point.

here it is before paint, just noticed i dont have any of it finished...

There are some more pics of how i did it here....

I will do a review when they get here. They have lights, so a wiring job will have to be done. They are 16" long, so moving the rear blinker job will have to be done. They stick back behind the rear seat pan area, so more than likely I will have to move the back luggage pack I "just" installed rearward by about 1-2 inches.

And yes I realize cheap is cheap, but abs plastic is very durable if the mix is "just right'. We shall see....
Got to make the wife happy, she wants more storage, i'll give her more storage. Smiley

I'm REAL curious about those too.
Can't wait for the review...

you could always buy a pair of ammo cans for about $20 each at the army/navy store like I did a couple years ago.

I'm not sure what size they are as I've sold the bike but on the side of the boxes is printed "32 CARTRIDGES 40MM".
As far as mounting them, I used the same brackets that came with the Mutazu hard bags that I had bought earlier. I had to drill holes in the back of the boxes and attach them to the side rails. Took a little time to get them straight and even on both sides but not too bad. Here's the only pic I have of the mounting brackets.
