I saw a Savage in a Wal-Mart parking lot, ohh,, prollee 7 or 8 years ago.
Ratty ol' thing, what wasnt scratched up was rusty & the seat was pretty rough, but it had over 90,000 miles on it. Didnt look like more than 2 or 3 of them were from it being dragged behind a truck,, POint is, it MADE 90+ Thowzund Miles & based on the looks of it, it had not been given the best maintenance. Id bet it had never seen any fancy schmancy oil & Id bet it went a little further between oil changes than anyone here would dream of doing. And That brings me to the next point,,  I think the Rotella T- 15/40 is plenty good enough to keep these engines happy long enough to wear the rest of the poor thing OUT,,& the $$$ saved by not buying $8.00 a quart oil ( or whatever the current fancy schmancy oils cost) will help put gas in it to help wear it out,

I started out on Mobil 1, but went to Rotella T6 after about 2 oil changes, and never looked back.

Here is a recent picture of Thumper with some of his friends.
Taken yesterday.  A sad day, as we assisted in the funeral escort for a San Antonio Police Officer killed in the line of duty.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Well, Pine -- you actually win the "Raptorization resulting in a crankcase full of gasoline" contest that we started what, 4 years ago?

Although we will all acknowledge the Raptor didn't actually cause the failure, your needle valve gave up on you (likely due to E10 gasoline that we are all using now).

Routy now gets to say "I told you so !!!"

But he was expecting a win in the first few weeks of the contest and it never came .....

Actually this has been documented before in many other bikes.
