throttle tube mischief

Ok so is this not the correct assembly? When I bolt this thing together it doesn't fit formally around the handlebars..decent gaps. Looks like someone has filed her down to make it fit and didnt finish the job.

Dane and i adjusted my vales (thnx Dane!) and she runs a bit better now. The afterfiring between gears (really jst a sharp, marginally low level pop), and backfiring (out the carb) seem to have subsided some, though it seems weather has a huge effect on all factors.

Looks like it was filed down for a new set of handlebars that were not drilled for it. You might want to round it out a little and if you are worried about the gaps, there is plenty of options to fill them i.e. rubber strips, foam or a new assy.

Boogie,.. your bike has given you some very creative problems...

Ditto SSG... I'd try to round it cleaner and smoother... if it ends up too big, find some rubber spacing material...

(Coincidentally... I just spent the afternoon filing and drilling on my Harley controls to allow for non-dimpled bars)...
(PS... there is no more painful kind of finger cut, than one done with a hacksaw)...
Grin...
Wink...
