Old-rider is looking for his next lightweight motorcycle.

I found it......the Sterling Black Douglas.  It even has the luggage rack already attached!

Sweet! it has a 230cc engine (biggest one, smallest is 125), you can buy a kit and have them ship it to you to put together on your own for about half the price.
Can't seem to get the converter to work for total price tho, I click on the dollar sign and everthing goes back to original settings.
Guess they don't want us blokes buying them.... Undecided

That's sweet.  Love to get hold of one of those.  Too bad it costs so much.

Looks like a chinese knock-off Honda engine.  If it is, not a good sign.

If we assume the flat tank motorcycle era ended in 1927 and most of them had gone off the road in 1940, a sixteen year old chick in 1940 would now be 90, or if she's youthful 89.

Dave, Not exactly on subject, but it is light weight. If I didn't hear wrong on the news recently Ford is introducing an aluminum  pickup. Anybody saving up for one?

Old_Rider:

That does look fun....as long as there was little traffic and you just have those and bicycles around you.

Put me in that thing on the same road as a bus, or truck......and they better have a rubber floor matt with a drain somewhere.

Well, I think i'm getting to the point that the savage is going to be my "cruiser" and to keep from starting up the truck or savage and wasting precious fuel i'm going to go electric for around town.
So now, its either build one (which could be fun creatively and keep me busy, but financially could prove dangerous), or find one that's not toooo expensive.... so far that is not so do-able.
I just want to get away from spending so much on an around town fun machine, and if I go electric I could charge it with solar or wind so it would be kinda "free" to ride.
