Gents,

Looks like I'm going to need one as I'm going to do some work on the S40 and most likely by myself.  I plan to take the rear tire off and double check the hub and maybe replace the belt.  I looked at the threads that showed the home made ones.  Would a little 2 ton jack work pretty good as long as the bike won't drift?  I have one other bike so I would like to have a set-up that may work for both.  Thanks, best regards.

It's a Kawasaki KLR (dual sport).  I have to admit I'm really taking a fondness to it.  The roads where I live are not remotely close to smooth and that 7 inches of travel soaks it up really well.

Isn't there a jacking plate under the battery you can use with a trolley jack? Mine has it and feels safe as houses. A 20 litre oil drum should be a perfect stand for the KLR. I use it on my DR, gets both wheels off the ground and is super stable.

If you can find a block thats taller than the swingarm is then lean the bike left, slide the bl;ock under the swingarm, stand the bike up & tie the handlebar off. Rear is off the ground, Or, hang it with a come along. Take the seat off & tie onto the frame, downside is it swings a bit, but Ive done it & won,

Yeah, a little while back I saw a deal on one.  I regret not buying it.  I'll keep a look out now.
