I guess I should not be surprised, the brutality of British rule has ebbed over the last century but then I see this:

British Social Services forcibly anestatized a pregnant Italian flight attendant who suffered a stress event from a bipolar condition, forcibly c-sectioned the baby (fortunately, neither the mother or baby died from this barabrism) and has now, 15 months later the baby is being placed for adoption within England.

The "I was ordered to" excuse used by Nazi officers didn't fly then and it sure shouldn't in this case either. We tend to look at the barbarity of muslims and dictators in places like Cuba, Venezuela and N. Korea but this is truely something that would make the craziest psychopath giggle and everyone else cringe. Angry

I just can't get past the barbarism, this is why we fight for our guns. Our guns help remind the Stalins, Maos, Hitlers, etc within America that we aren't your livestock. At least for a little longer Angry

This is what you get when the people who live in a country are "subjects" rather than "citizens". As a subject, your life is controled by government functionaties working from a script written by other functionaries.

This is also what you get when you opt for "free health care". If you aren't paying for something, whomever is giving it to you gets to call the shots. They decide what is in your best interests.

The woman is an Italian citizen, hence the UK authorities have NO SUCH AUTHORITY over her, much less over her baby.

It happened some 15 months ago and the woman's family and the Italian authorities have been battling since.

The problem is the UK Courts refuse to say where the baby is being kept.

Were it for me, under such circumstances, when diplomacy fails, bring out the guns... Angry

An Italian Flight assistant was in England, had a nervous breakdown.
She was pregnant.
A Court Order came to have her arrested, taken to hospital, and they forced a Cesarean cut on her and took the baby.

To me, this spells kidnap (of the mother) , a forced surgical treatment (in layman's words, she was maimed), kidnap (of the baby).

Never were the Italian diplomatic authorities consulted.

To me, this spells bloody murder, and people here are incensed ! Angry

Please explain what I am wrong about. The UK acted as though they had the authority to do what they did in spite of the poor womans citizenship. Which is yet another characteristic of despotic regimes, regardless of whether the despotisim was imposed by a dictator. a king, or was elected into being by the misguided population of a particular country. The result is the same in the end; loss of individual freedom and a government run amok.

Row, she had a panic attack,, rather than accommodate the womans needs in a psychiatric hospital setting, observing & keeping her safe, as would CARING medical caregivers, they treated her like a pregnant cat that MITE harm its kittens should they be born. They sedated her & cut her open & TOOK her baby & rather that give her the baby & keep her supervised & under observation & sending them both home, they have STOLEN her baby!. How can someone of your intellect so completely miss or avoid the point? Your statement is completely off base,,& if someone stole your child( who is also somebodys grandchild) would you sit quietly? Can you Imagine the HOrror of waking up from a surgery you didnt want or even KNOW was about to happen & discover that the baby you had hopes & dreams of the future was not only GONE, but being held in a secret place & wouldnt be returned? REally? You dont see that as time to hurt someone? Would you if it was a team of people who lured a pregnant woman to a location & slipped her a mickey & cut her baby out of her & dumped her at the hospital ER entrance & kidnapped the baby to raise? Are you okay with it because a governmental body did it instead of street criminals who had the knowledge to accomplish it w/o killing her or the baby?> Wheres the difference? The c-section occurred 5 weeks after the woman was hospitalized for mental instability,... after she went co-co puffs over not getting breakfast when she wanted it...

I can envision mental behavior that would necessitate such action for the safety of the child...

Now,.. there is issue of custody... Italy and England can work that out...

...but..." Crime Against Humanity"?...

I don't know the facts and neither do you... let the courts figure it out...
