I made sure to get images that were royalty free and free to use commercially. I researched for three days looking for such un-licensed images. The girl is supposed to be washed out, she is a spirit.

I probably could make her more transparent but quite frankly I am happy with how it turned out. With future covers I will definitely look into it if there is a spirit involved

I haven't published it yet, but I do intend to put it in both e-book and hopefully print on demand if I can. The manuscript is finished and I have edited it to within an inch of it's life. Right now I am researching and working out exactly how and when it will be available for purchase and download.

I have been writing stories since junior high and this is my first (I believe) publishable manuscript so I am still learning the ins and outs of the self-publishing biz.

Sorry to nit-pick, but the clouds are vertical looking.... makes it look like she is putting off steam...

Good luck on the E-book thing... saves tons on printing I've heard... puts more money in yer pocket.

I've a friend I used to work with who is now a published author... I'll talk with her and see how she went about it. Maybe might help, if you get a perspective of another new writer.

You're correct. I hadn't noticed that. But I think I'll leave it like that, it isn't too bad looking.

I believe that happened when I adjusted the proportions of the background image to the size I needed. I will definitely keep that side affect in mind with future covers.
