Or at least a shower of water crystals falling from the heavens. A comet is due to pass REALLY close to mars next year and I mean really close!! Like with-in 63,000 miles, and in planet gravity mix, that's close! The comet (comet siding spring) will pass so close that the planet will pass through its tail and nasa is a bit worried about all their hardware floating around above the red planet.
They are saying that even the best edjumakated guessers aren't even throwing money down that the comet might even collide with mars! According to the astro geeks, the odds went from 1 in 8,000 to about 1 in 120,000 since the comet has picked up speed from the gravitational pull of the sun.
Oh and it is past its apex and heading back in toward our little blue ball, so guess what? it will speed up even more now! They are hoping their calculations will be spot on, but um, as speed increases the data will change.
Here is a JPL laboratory link to the comets path....hope you have JAVA, you can play with it a bit and see how close it gets to the planets.

There are about a million and a half ateroids and a couple hundred thousand comets... what are the odds you might ask? even the experts don't know when.... they just know someday it will happen.
