Anyone ever do this?  Just wondering if it really does give a performance boost.

If the plug sparks, it sparks... you won't get anything more...
Unless you have a regular miss,.. no spark plug change or mod will do anything more than spark like the old one...

Some plugs say double or ten times the spark,.. but it means nothing... If the spark is enough to ignite the fuel, that's all there is...
The amount of spark is inconsequential compared to the ignition of fuel...
You will never get a bigger boom, or more power, from a plug... Huh...

More complete combustion?... Noop...
If the exploding gas don't burn it up,.. a tiny bit bigger spark igniting it ain't gonna'...

Our bike,... being a low revver and low compression is even less needy than most...

Mythbusted!...  Grin...

PS... Welcome to SS.Com, getz...
I don't mean to bust yer' chops for askin'...
I just comment on this for the general knowledge of all members here...

Now watch...
Somebody's gonna' chime in and tell me they got 5 extra horses from a spark plug...
Not buyin' it...  Show me the money!... Grin...

If you could gain 5 HP with something that simple......the factory would have done it!

If you have the time to spare, do some timed runs......then do the side gapped plug and repeat the timed runs.  Let us know how it works.

The HEMI ENGINES have gain performance by locating the spark plug at the center of the hemisperic dome. That allowed a complete burn all the way across the combustion chamber during very high revolutions. There was never a change in the spark plug unless you go to a 3-E type plug and they have been around for 50 years but nobody has proved it is better. Another thing to consider is if you have a hotter spark you run the risk of melting a hole in the top of the piston.

The one on the left is side gapped in the style that is required when using nitrous injection.   They move the plug down way short to keep it from glowing white hot and melting .... seriously.   The super hot plug tips can cause early detonation and destroy an engine.

You can buy this style of plug from bosch in 2 and 3 prong versions that do the same thing, which is a good idea if you are running a lot of boost in a turbo rig (which is why Bosch makes them).

Nitrous in a Savage, I've thought about it, but decided hanging heavy steel nitrous bottles off my bike would look kinda dorky.
