I confused... you have lost power to the lights, horn, starter,... but you say you have power to the headlight, but it don't light?...

If you have power  to the light, but it don't light,.. the bulb is burned out...
If you don't have power to anything,.. check the fuses (use a meter, not yer' eyeballs)... check the battery connections, ground strap (behind engine clutch lever arm)..., stater relay connections(under seat)...
Check for voltage at the battery terminals... and double check your ignition key position...

Tell us what you find...
Wink...

I had the connection come apart under the front of the tank one time.  It did just like yours is doing.

This flimsy electric system, same here with the big connector under the tank, keeps cutting in and out. Sometimes I get stranded for a few mins.

for a small electrical system, it was hard to find the broken wire. have never had problems with the connections under the tank. but the bike does vibrate a lot, so i will watch for that. thanks Smiley

Yes, just about everyone that has one of these bikes. There are things you can do to try to mitigate/eliminate it. Look at the link old-rider provided. But it isn't an indication that there is anything wrong with your bike. If the noise doesn't bother you too much you can just ignore it and not do any harm.

I rather like the afterfire when I turn off the bike.  If it didn't do it, I'd think something was wrong with it.

I have very little backfiring while riding, though.  Just a few little burbles on decel.  I occasionally get a pop or two between gears until the engine warms up.

I agree.  The burbles and occasional pops add some character.
