Oil and filter change...
11/03/13 at 09:19:43

Yesterday I changed the oil in my Savage for the second time, the first time I found that removing the oil filter cover made a real mess.
A while after I ran across a post on this site that was very helpful, I
thought I'd pass this on in case you missed it.
After draining the oil from the engine and before you change the filter
take some aluminum foil and wearing gloves as the pipe will be hot, drape
the foil over the exhaust pipe from the foot-peg back. Forming a trough so
when you pull the filter cover the oil will flow over the pipe and into your
drain pan. Once you're done with the filter remove the foil and....NO Mess!
Works great and thanks to whoever posted that tip!
