I have a question on timing chain

Hi guys, I have a trouble..
I noticed this is not pleasant regularity: 2 on account of the timing chain is only about 10 000 miles, although the operating experience should serve twice. what could be the reason? can be worn sprocket of a crankshaft and camshaft? what I need to measure of? I read the Clymer once more and found no measurements to compare...what can you tell boys? I rely on your help.

thank Dave! Yes, such sad symptoms are...the sound of the chain is present, the output rod tension about 20-22mm (or rather not remember, but I have an elongated rod), the length of 1 link of timing chain about 6,15mm(in terms of the 21 link turns out 129,15mm)...that's such a sad statistics... I just want to find the reason for such a speedy wear chain..

Hot to stretch the chain to loose and cold to condense and click to tighter setting. The LS400 has thicker iron cylinder sleeves. I'm wondering if this is a factor.

hmm .. it's likely you're right Versy .. may be enough of a reason in the temperature range? I do not know, I do not have the Big Savage .. although probably larger engine brother more heat. but on the other hand, the thickness of the cylinder liner at the "baby" more and magnitude of thermal expansion can also be more ... do I understand your thinking?

what can I say? on the crankshaft sprocket I saw "enlightenment"-traces of the chain on the lateral (face) side up. teeth stars i not measured. in the repair book Yamaha-drag star I read that worn teeth stars timing should not exceed 1/4 of the initial size...

wear on my "baby" parts like would not go beyond that . but I'm not sure . maybe someone of you guys there are new star crankshaft or camshaft? can make a measurement of teeth?
