A Family That Rides Together....
10/26/13 at 19:43:04
This is the first time we have had all the gear to go away as a family on the bikes. Only went about an hour and a half from home but had a great time. Boys loved it, can't wait to do it all again. I'm the devilishly handsome one the other is Fiona, my wife. Oldest boy Jacob is the one with out his shirt on and Harrison is in the bag.

For comfort I find it great. I have a dodgy hip and can still ride it all day. seat is wide and comfy. The economy until recently was ok but not great, around 12-14k's to the liter. But I recently found out that a few of these earlier ones came from the factory with a 16t front sprocket not the standard 17t or for later ones 18t. I have put an 18t on and now look to be getting 17+ to the liter. It had always baffled me why my economy was so bad compared to most others on the Triumph forums. I find it plods along at 110-130k's quite nicely, also handles very well in the tighter stuff. As you can probably tell I love my Triumph!!

Glad all is looking fine Cloudy and I hope your wife is really enjoying her S40. For the Americans, the 17+ km to the litre, should be at least 42.2 US gals per mile and the 110 to 130 kmph is about 68 to 78 mph.

That's pretty accurate work WD. NZ long and skinny, Colorado more or less square.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing. I want your triumph! Lol. Hubby had a Suzi C90, my son had a Savage, and my S40. We took a few trips together. Its a great feeling! Hubby traded his C90 and son killed the Savage, so now I ride alone.... I miss our family rides.
