My ? is, will a 06 HD Dyna seat interchange with mine? Curious and thought it would, just need the guru's that know the bike better than I do to let me know. Thanks in advance.. kim

I think it takes a little modding. haven't done it myself...
Piglet's got one, I think...

I rode a Sporty a couple years ago... and it had a seat that felt like sitting on a telephone pole...
The Sporty I have now feels great...
Not all Sporty seats are the same...

KC,.. I hope you can try sitting on it before buying...
I find,.. basically,... if a seat has something of a bucket scoop. or a relatively flat bottom, it allows for some scooting around, and is better for distance...
Seats with a hump, will kill you after a while...

See this thread also, as there's some info there on getting your seat recovered/repadded if you'd like to try that instead of spending the $$ that a Corbin seat would ring up. (They are nice seats, but they are definitely spendy)

This is very true and essentially why the Corbin was the seat I went with. I just did a 2700 mile trip this last month on my S40 and doing it on the stock seat would have meant more stops, less miles, and a longer trip. In essense, the Corbin seat paid for itself by me not being on the road a couple extra days. I love it.

Denver (where I was this summer and bought my S40) to San Francisco where I live but I went there is a zig-zag motocamping route across Colorado, through Utah's national parks, back and forth across Arizona, back up to Monument Valley in Utah, Grand Canyon, Route 66 to LA, and up the Pacific Coast Highway. It was awesome. I might post about it here with some pics.

I managed to wrap up my trip right as the government shut down kicked in which would have put a damper on my national park visits for sure.

But the two best mods I made prior to my trip were the Corbin seat and the Routy forward controls. Those two things took this little around-town bike and made it a long distance cruiser.

that's pretty sweet, I wish we had one of those around here. this is southern cal we are supposed to have everything here. I have been seriously considering the corbin. If it was just a bit less I probably would have pulled the trigger already. Funny thing Is my other bike is a Yamaha Fz6r and the seat for that, while being almost identical in size to the S40 seat is about $500 bones! :'(

When I get my savage I am going to try to adapt one to fit. The wife is happy with the current setup, course she is only 5' 1" and weighs like 110lbs.

Thanks guys, mnefred, Coupevile is not far from me. 45 mins ride and ferry crossing and I am there.
I have heard of Rich's seats from other forum when I had my Rebel.
I think I will have to possibly check them out.
The seat I was asking about is in Ca.
I won't be able to test it out till I take a trip back down there.
I have a sportster seat that I got from Al and it is better than
stock.

Although they looked similar, and were the same overall shape, the bend in the seat pan didn't fit right on my S40, so I took the leather and guts off the panhead seat and transferred everthing to my stock seat pan. I found it fairly easy to modify a stock V-Star 950 seat to fit. Cut off the latch part & made 4 simple brackets & it bolts to the stock mounts. It even works with the stock passenger seat. My wife says it's way better than the stock seat was, & mine was widened & had extra padding.You can usually get one for under $50 on the Yamaha forum.
